The Guinness Book of World Records has officially certified the anime ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ as the “most in-demand animated TV show,” and also named it the “world’s most popular anime”, which overtakes ‘Attack on Titan’ for the naming honors.
‘Attack on Titan’ had owned the designation since 2020.
The Guinness Book of World Records stated that it based this decision on information from data-science firm Parrot Analytics which showed that Jujutsu Kaisen had a “global demand rating” that was 71.2 times greater than that of the average television series.
Parrot Analytics calculates “demand” based on billions of captured data points, such as video consumption, social media engagement, and research actions, such as reading articles/forums/posts about the show online.
The Guinness Book of World Records went on to say that ‘One Piece’ and ‘Attack on Titan’, which still holds the record for the “largest comic book published”, were close to claiming the coveted top spot.
The Jujutsu Kaisen television anime premiered in October 2020 with a 24-episode first season.
