My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu of OreGairu is a romantic comedy anime that is considered one of the best in the romance genre. It introduces us to many characters who are very different from each other in their own way. These characters are also some of the most recognizable characters that many fans love. It is an anime with a good storyline with great character development. In addition, it is said that every story should have characters that can be remembered for a long time and OreGairu is one such story that indeed gives us memorable characters.
OreGairu is an anime based on Wataru Watari’s Light Novel. It is illustrated by Ponkan8. OreGairu is also known by many other names such as “My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong As I Expected” or “Hamachi”. It tells us the story of Hachiman Hikigaya, Yukino Yukinoshita and Yui Yuigahama as they face many challenges in their school and teenage life as part of the School’s Service Club.
OreGairu’s story:
As mentioned above, OreGairu introduces us to the life of Hachiman Hikigaya, a character who is not only socially awkward but also spends most of the time in his head, often spewing insightful philosophies. His philosophies are something that makes him a recognizable character as he believes that everyone is inherently selfish. In addition, he is a loner who prefers to sit still and watch people and analyze situations rather than interfere. Next, we are introduced to Yukino Yukinoshita, the beauty of the school.
Yukino also looks a lot like Hachiman, but leans more towards the socially inept side. Yukino is also the president of the school’s Volunteer Club, which Hachiman is to join. Although they are similar when it comes to socializing, they have contrasting ideas that always make their interactions interesting.
We then meet the third protagonist Yui Yuigahama. Yui’s personality is very different from Hachiman and Yukino’s as she is more on the cheerful and bubbly side. She also joins the club and together they solve and help other students with their problems. They come across many scenarios that teenagers face and also develop their relationships with each other while meeting other characters as well.
What Happened in OreGairu Season 3?
OreGairu’s season 3 was indeed an emotional rollercoaster for the fans. It answered a lot of questions that fans had from season 1 which continued to season 2. It can be seen that these characters have grown a lot during their days in these 3 seasons. However, the Season 3 ending had mixed reactions among fans as some liked it while others hated it. Throughout the seasons, the main characters Yukino, Yui and Hachiman have tried to wrap their heads around each other and their own feelings. This causes conflict between the characters, but in the end they try to be there for each other.
Season 3 puts an end to the twisted conflict between these three. Hachiman finally decides what he wants. Yukino no longer has to suppress her feelings. Unfortunately, Yui is the one who is heartbroken because she has never been able to properly confess her love for Hachiman. Either way, Yui, being the happy person she is, can be herself again in no time.
Cast:
The cast of OreGairu has stayed true to the series from the start. The main characters Hachiman, Yukino and Yui are voiced by Eguchi Takuya, Hayami Saori and Touyama Nao respectively.
Other cast members include Hiyama Nobuyuki, Yuzuki Ryouka, Kondou Takashi, Komatsu Mikako, Nakahara Mai, Yuuki Aoi, and Koshimizu Ami.
Will OreGairu have a season 4?
OreGairu will not have a season 4, so season 3 concluded the anime series. While some fans would like them to restart production for Season 4, others feel there is no need to extend the story. Since the light novel, from which the series has been adapted, is a short one, the story ended in a reasonable way. Fans are thus pleased with the 3 seasons of recognizable chaos and solace that the anime brought.
Maybe we can get an OVA more focused on Yui and the future she takes. Anyway, fans are fine with there being no season 4, but if there is a season 4 it will be looked forward to.
